After finishing with a 9-7 record and knocking out the best two teams in the league, the 15-1 Green Bay Packers and the 13-3 San Francisco 49ers to launch themselves back into the Super Bowl where they will face their foe from Super Bowl XLII, the New England Patriots. In that game the Giants squeaked out a three point victory even while the Patriots were 12-point favorites.
Entering Super Bowl XLVI, there is an air of revenge on the part of the Patriots. "This is a rematch of a game that probably bothers the New England Patriots the most,” said NBC analyst Cris Collinsworth. ‘They had the chance to stake their claim to be the greatest team of all time and the Giants beat them in major underdog fashion."
